Sustainability Plan 2010-2019

The strategic priorities for the sustainability of the Enel Group, in accordance with the previous years plans for sustainability, are now joined by the 2010-2019 multi-year Industrial Plan that lays out the path for the economic growth of the business within a strategic framework for environmental and social development.
 
Enel has completed its international growth path and is now one of the major global energy operators. The industrial plan for the period 2010-2019 focuses on four strategic priorities:

• maintaining the leadership position in markets where Enel is already present;
• further integration and consolidation of current situations;
• the pursuit of operational excellence;
• renewable energy development and the promotion of technological innovation and nuclear power.

To ensure the full sharing of strategic objectives, every year the operational managers of Enel divisions receive a "plan letter" from the CEO which contains the principles of corporate responsibility to follow for determining, in each operational area of the company, the objectives and specifies actions to be taken. The sustainability plans for operational units, mentioned in the Plan Letter, are then inserted into the Enel sustainability and control system described in this brief, in the section headed "Methods of management and performance indicators". Similarly, the principles indicate the objectives and actions to take, and some common values related to the company climate, to the person(s), to health and safety, which must be applied.
